The Crisis We Face
The statistics are stark and heartbreaking: Veterans take their own lives at nearly twice the rate of civilians—over 6,000 nationwide each year, with more than 125 right here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Behind these numbers are heroes who served our nation with honor, now struggling with:
• Complex medical challenges
• PTSD and mental health conditions
• Social isolation and disconnection
• Difficulties transitioning back to civilian life
These are preventable tragedies. Together, we can change these numbers.
The Bay Area Veteran Suicide Prevention Network unites Veterans' support organizations, community members, and local businesses with one shared purpose: saving Veterans' lives. We believe that when our community stands together as guardians, we can identify veterans in crisis and connect them to life-saving resources before it's too late.
Working together is the most effective way to begin bringing down the numbers of Veterans lost to the despair and loneliness that can lead to suicide. Contact us and find out how you can make a real difference in a Veterans life.
